Job summary

Honest Networks is seeking a Network Engineer to join our hybrid, full-time team in the NYC metro area. You will handle rapid incident response, troubleshoot Wi‑Fi and WAN/LAN issues, and communicate with customers by phone, text, web chat, and email. On-site work in our NYC area office a few days per week is required.

The role requires IP routing, fiber optics, Cisco/Juniper experience, and network monitoring. We offer competitive pay, PTO, medical/dental benefits, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of IP protocols and routing (TCP/UDP, OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with fiber optics and SFP modules.
• Comfortable with Cisco/Juniper CLI; Mikrotik a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to customer inquiries and issues via phone, text, web chat and email.
• Communicate with customers and team to resolve network problems.
• Advanced troubleshooting of Wi-Fi and WAN/LAN networking issues.
• Provide direct support to lead engineer.

About The Role

Honest Networks is hiring a Network Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. This is a hybrid, full-time position. The hours for this full-time position would be 8am-4pm from Tuesday-Saturday. Please do not apply if you are not able to work from our New York City office a couple days a week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responding quickly and thoughtfully to incoming support inquiries and issues.
• Communicating directly with existing and prospective customers via phone, text, web chat, and email.
• Advanced troubleshooting of Wi‑Fi and other WAN/LAN networking issues.
• Providing direct support to the lead engineer.
• This job is not remote and is based in either New Jersey, New York, Connecticut or Philadelphia.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of IP protocols (TCP/UDP), dynamic routing, OSPF/BGP
• Strong familiarity with fiber optic networking (working with SFP modules, SM fiber cabling).
• Comfortable working in command line environments with Cisco/Juniper, bonus: Mikrotik.
• Working knowledge of OSI model.
• Experience with network monitoring software preferred.
• Familiarity with wireless broadband radio and fiber networks.
