Take2 is hiring a Network Engineer who is eligible to be sponsored for a Secret Clearance. This position is onsite and will require you to work out of McLean, VA.
Job Description: Network Engineer
Location: Mclean, VA (Hybrid 50%)
Clearance: Secret or at least Clearable
Work is to provide engineering, administration, and monitoring support for the client’s network environments. Specific work is focused on implementing and operating network infrastructure:
- Work shall be for patching, scanning, remediation, support, and maintain networking and related infrastructures, and other roles and projects as needed at the direction of the client.
- Work shall include interfacing and communicating with team members and our department information security liaison to evaluate security vulnerabilities, contribute to determination of risk levels, understanding mitigating factors, determining, and implementing remediation plans.
- Work requires working knowledge of TCP/IP (V4) Networking, including configuration, management and sustainment of network switch gear, routers, routing protocols, and cable infrastructure.
- Work can require physical access to network gear and understanding, manipulating, and managing port and cable configurations. Moving and consolidation of network links, cables, and access to consolidate, migrate, upgrade and/or retire network equipment, may be performed to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Research and determine appropriate OS Version and patch levels to remediate vulnerabilities for Cisco and Juniper network devices, and leverage Cisco and Juniper tools and configurations to update OS versions, patch, and maintain configurations of these devices.
- Monitors impact of remediation efforts by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems that may result from remediation efforts.
- Leverage Automated tools for no or low touch deployment of patches and upgrades, using CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and/or cloud management software.
- Develop requirements, coordinate with our automation team, test automated deployments and leverage automation based on generated requirements to deploy network OS updates, patches and configuration changes using our CI/CD pipelines and repository.
- Develop and write support documentation and audit artifacts to record our remediation efforts.
Other Qualifications:
- Other duties for network sustainment that may be assigned include change support, customer support, service request, incident and troubleshooting of client’s network infrastructure.
- Work is expected to be performed on-site in client’s McLean offices, and the contractor will comply with the client's work policies for contractors.
- Required schedule will be 2PM – 10PM Mon-Friday to be able to perform work during device and network maintenance windows. Work may occasionally be planned and scheduled for implementation during weekends, if required to meet internal SLA’s and business windows.
- Work will require Secret Clearance for access to sensitive devices and locations.
Work Hours:
- You are expected to work approximately 40 hours per week, primarily on-site, with a modified work schedule as necessary to support scheduled Tuesday and Thursday maintenance windows. The established Network Maintenance Window is 5:00 PM through 11:59 PM each Tuesday and Thursday. Most planned maintenance activities are expected to occur between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The Contractor will be expected to adjust their regular work schedule to provide coverage during these maintenance periods and to perform Vulnerability Management Program (VMP) operating system updates, remediation activities, and related maintenance on supported equipment.
- When the complexity of a change, unexpected implementation issues, or other operational requirements warrant, the Contractor may be required to provide support for the full maintenance window, through 11:59 PM.
- Maintenance activities may also occasionally be scheduled during weekends or other non-standard business hours when necessary to meet internal service-level requirements, operational needs, or established business maintenance windows. Such work will be planned and scheduled in advance whenever practicable.
