Goldbelt Incorporated seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role emphasizes security, compliance, and operational excellence for federal and commercial customers.

This position is remote with occasional travel; candidates in Juneau are preferred due to local network complexity.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN).

• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from multiple vendors.

• Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to ensure compliant solutions.
• Provide on-call and Tier II/III support as needed.

Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure supporting Goldbelt, Inc. and its subsidiaries. This role ensures secure, reliable, and high-performing network services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, with a strong emphasis on compliance, cybersecurity, and operational excellence in support of federal and commercial customers.

This position is remote with occasional travel; however, candidates based in Juneau are preferred due to the complexity of the local network.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, routing, and switching
• Working knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls, and secure remote access
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple environments and layers
• Familiarity with network monitoring, logging, and performance management tools
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• Possesses attention to detail and effective problem‑solving skills
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with co‑workers and with outside agencies, partners, shareholders, and business associates
• Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt messages and strategies for diverse audiences
• Basic understanding of relevant software, tools, and systems used in the corporate environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Level 1 - Network Engineer I:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a related field or demonstrated proficiency as a Goldbelt IT Support Technician II.
  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Ability to learn and apply network configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and support procedures
  • HPE Aruba Networking Certified Associate - Switching or equivalent certification.
• Level 2 - Network Engineer II:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration roles
  • Certified in HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional - Switching (ACP-S) and/or HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional - Campus Access (ACP-CA) or equivalent certification
  • Hands‑on experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking technologies (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
• Level 3 - Network Engineer III:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional - Switching (ACP-S), HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional - Campus Access (ACP-CA), or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience independently designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise network security technologies
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network issues and providing technical guidance or mentorship to less experienced network engineers
  • Must have the ability to pass a pre‑employment background

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
• Previous government contracting experience

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $112,700 to $137,750 annually.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and firewall solutions
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliability and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity, latency, and security incidents
• Implement and maintain network security controls in accordance with NIST, DoD, and customer security requirements
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from vendors such as HPE Aruba, SonicWALL, VMWare or equivalent
• Support cloud and hybrid networking solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, or other government‑approved cloud environments)
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines
• Participate in system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle replacement activities
• Collaborate with Vendors, Partners, and IT operations teams to ensure integrated and compliant solutions
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, audits, and compliance assessments as required
• Provide Tier II/Tier III network support and on‑call support as needed
• Ensure compliance with Goldbelt policies, customer requirements, and applicable federal regulations
