Job summary

Ardent Health is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain the stability, performance, and security of its network infrastructure across multiple facilities. The role involves deployment of new hardware, outage handling, and cross-team collaboration to resolve complex issues.

The ideal candidate has CCNA, 5+ years in information systems (preferably healthcare), and hands-on experience with Cisco/Fortinet products.

Qualifications

• Associates’ degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
• Active CCNA.
• 5+ years of experience working in Information Systems, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• 3+ years hands-on networking experience with Cisco and/or Fortinet products.
• Experience troubleshooting and configuring LAN Infrastructures: STP, Ether-channel/Port Channel, Dot1.Q, VTP, 802.1x, DHCP, DACLs.
• Experience troubleshooting WAN infrastructures: routing protocols, IP ACLs, leased circuits.
• Experience troubleshooting AAA and TACACS+.
• Experience designing basic IP schemes for branch locations.
• Experience troubleshooting basic 802.11 wireless issues.
• Experience configuring SNMP monitoring and logging.
• Must demonstrate strong ownership of responsibilities.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Visio and Office applications.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% per year for deployments.
• Ability to multitask between strategic tasks while resolving operational problems.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks, security risks, and network outages.
• Responds promptly to network incidents and outages, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborates with other IT teams to resolve issues that span multiple infrastructure components.
• Maintains accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
• Troubleshoots LAN and WAN service issues on Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
• Configures switching platforms: Cisco 3750x, 9200 and 9300, Cisco Nexus, Fortiswitch.
• Configures routing platforms: Cisco ASR and ISR, Fortigate, Meraki.
• Installation of network hardware.
• Activation of leased WAN circuits.
• Participates in daily team meetings and various project meetings.
• Creates and reviews change scripts.
• Works with security team to mitigate active threats.

Position Summary
