Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years’ related experience or equivalent proficiency in network engineering.
  • CCNA and/or CCNP certification preferred.
  • Strong enterprise routing and switching knowledge; dynamic routing protocols like BGP.
  • Experience with network security, firewalls, VPN, segmentation, and security design.
  • Experience with automation, IaC, APIs, source control, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, implement, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across campus, data center, cloud, and remote environments.
  • Support routing, switching, data center networking, SD-WAN, wireless, cloud networking, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Develop and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code for provisioning, configuration, validation, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and escalation support for complex network issues and root-cause analysis.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, documentation, standards, and implementation plans.

Job description

< p>We are seeking a < b>Network Engineer to join our team. The Network Engineer is responsible for the engineering, implementation, automation, security, reliability, and advanced troubleshooting of network infrastructure across campus, branch, data center, cloud, and remote-access environments. This position serves as a technical resource within the networking team, working closely with the Network Architect to translate architectural direction into detailed designs and production solutions. The Network Engineer leads complex implementations, serves as an escalation point for technical issues, and provides guidance and mentorship to Network Administrators. The role requires strong enterprise networking fundamentals with experience across network security, data center, cloud, and network automation.
  • Engineer, implement, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across campus, branch, data center, cloud, wireless, WAN, and remote-access environments.
  • Support advanced routing and switching, dynamic routing, data center networking, SD-WAN, wireless, cloud networking, high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
  • Evaluate network infrastructure and technical requirements to improve reliability, performance, scalability, and operational supportability.

Network Security

  • Engineer and support network security infrastructure including firewalls, network segmentation, remote-access VPN, network access control, DDoS protections, DNS, DLP, and related security controls.
  • Implement secure network solutions and collaborate with security teams to address security requirements, vulnerabilities, and risk.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across network and security technologies, including authentication, connectivity, routing, segmentation, and policy-related issues.

Network Automation

  • Develop and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code for network provisioning, configuration, validation, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Use source control, APIs, CI/CD, scripting, and automation frameworks to create repeatable and reliable network engineering processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and apply emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to improve engineering and operational efficiency.

Engineering Leadership & Operations

  • Work to translate architecture, standards, and strategic direction into detailed implementation designs, configurations, deployment plans, testing, and production solutions.
  • Lead complex network implementations and infrastructure changes, coordinating activities with Network Administrators, internal technology teams, vendors, and partners.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and developing appropriate corrective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to Network Administrators and other team members.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, standards, procedures, implementation plans, and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Participate in project planning, capacity and lifecycle planning, disaster recovery activities,after-hours on-call rotation, and planned maintenance as required.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience.
Years of Experience
  • 6+ years’ related experience or equivalent proficiency and/or certification in a specialized network engineering field.
Certification and Technical Requirements
  • Cisco CCNA, and/or CCNPcertification preferred.
  • Strong enterprise routing and switching knowledge, including hands-on experience with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP.
  • Experience engineering and troubleshooting highly available enterprise networks across multiple network technologies and infrastructure layers.
  • Experience with network security technologies and concepts including firewalls, segmentation, VPN, access control, and secure network design.
  • Experience with network automation, scripting, APIs, Infrastructure as Code, source control, or automated deployment practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop scalable and supportable solutions.
  • Strong technical communication, documentation, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience with Cisco routing, switching, ACI/Nexus, ISE, and Cisco or Meraki wireless technologies.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet firewalls, including Fortinet SD-WAN.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking and/or Cloudflare connectivity.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted tools to network engineering, automation, or operational workflows.
