Job summary

Ardent Health seeks a Network Engineer to maintain stability, performance, and security of its network infrastructure. You will handle outages, deploy hardware, and troubleshoot complex problems for a healthcare network environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring, incident response, documentation, and collaboration with IT teams. Requires CCNA, 5+ years in IT, and travel up to 10% for deployments.

Qualifications

  • Associates' degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent training.
  • Active CCNA certification.
  • 5+ years of IT experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • 3+ years hands-on networking with Cisco and/or Fortinet.
  • Experience configuring LAN infrastructures including STP, EtherChannel, Dot1Q, DHCP, DACLs.
  • Experience troubleshooting WAN infrastructures, routing protocols, IP ACLs, leased circuits.
  • Experience troubleshooting AAA and TACACS+.
  • Experience designing basic IP schemes for branch locations.
  • Experience troubleshooting basic 802.11 wireless issues.
  • Experience configuring SNMP monitoring and logging.
  • Strong ownership, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Visio and Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Uses network monitoring tools to identify performance bottlenecks and outages.
  • Responds to incidents, investigates root causes, and implements solutions.
  • Collaborates with IT teams to resolve multi-component issues.
  • Maintains network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoots LAN/WAN on Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
  • Configures routing and switching across Cisco/Nexus/ Fortinet devices.
  • Installs network hardware and activates leased WAN circuits.
  • Participates in daily and project meetings and creates change scripts.
  • Works with security teams to mitigate active threats.
