Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a Network DevOps Engineer to join the Global Network Engineering and Operations team in Chicago. You will design, build, and operate automated, testable network infrastructure using software engineering practices and IaC to provision devices and services.

Responsibilities include developing automation tooling with Python, Ansible, and Terraform, building GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and integrating with CMDBs like ServiceNow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of network engineering experience with 2+ years in automation/DevOps.
• Hands-on Python scripting for automation and tooling.
• Proficient with Ansible for device/config automation and Terraform for infra provisioning.
• Ability to author and run GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking, VLANs, STP, BGP/OSPF, WAN technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IaC to provision and manage network devices, services, and configurations.
• Build and own GitLab CI/CD pipelines for network automation, validation, and deployment.
• Develop automation tooling using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Implement automated testing for network changes (unit, integration, device/system).
• Create reusable automation libraries and templates for multi-vendor environments.
• Integrate network automation with inventory/CMDB systems (e.g., ServiceNow) and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot production network and automation issues; perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Maintain runbooks, design docs, and change-control artifacts.
