AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Scale support of several data center locations and provide day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
  • Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
  • Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks, and network implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
  • Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license; company transportation will not be provided.

A Day in the Life
  1. Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks. Track network rack intake and delivery; work with onsite teams to request rack space, power and cooling; partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready. Perform link and device troubleshooting within a service‑level agreement.
  2. Perform console builds and room builds to provide additional space and capacity for customer racks.
  3. Work with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in computer networking and working with Linux operating systems.
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
  • Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+), or experience working in a colocation data center facility.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, packet capture tools) or experience in managing and troubleshooting network.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
