Job summary

BankNewport is seeking a Network Administrator to support day-to-day network operations and system health within a community banking environment. You will work with the Network Systems Manager on LAN/WAN troubleshooting, server upgrades, backups, and security monitoring.

The role requires strong Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and patch management knowledge, plus the ability to collaborate with vendors and provide escalation support. This is a hybrid position in Rhode Island.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent field experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Solid networking knowledge: DHCP, DNS, routing, IP addressing; familiarity with Cisco and Extreme hardware.
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware experience.
• Experience with vulnerability management and patching; basic cybersecurity concepts.
• Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist network manager with LAN/WAN issues and daily operations.
• Perform server upgrades and patching for Windows servers and network devices.
• Configure and deploy network switches and access points as needed.
• Maintain backups and monitor systems; respond to monitoring tickets from security vendors.
• Support Active Directory/Intune administration and group policies; provide 3rd tier helpdesk support.
