Job summary

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Network Engineer to join the Network team. You will ensure WAN/LAN reliability, security, and 24/7 operations across two data centers and remote sites.

Responsibilities include configuring Cisco LAN/WAN, wireless networks, documenting configurations, mentoring junior staff, and supporting on-call rotation. Work is performed in an office environment within a law enforcement agency with potential non-standard hours

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of hands-on enterprise network experience.
Associate degree plus 6+ years of enterprise network experience with Cisco techs.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/related plus 5+ years of enterprise network experience with Cisco techs.
Four years of experience within Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office ISD role.

Responsibilities

Ensure day-to-day operation and high availability of WANs across two data centers and remote sites.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco LAN, WAN and wireless networks (WLC, IOS, Nexus).
Design network systems (LAN/WAN/Intranet/Internet) to meet business and security needs.
Maintain network configurations and documentation; support on-call rotation; mentor junior staff.
