Job summary

Acumen Technology is seeking a confident Network Administrator to join our team in Middle Tennessee. You will manage client networks, work with VMware, Azure, and Microsoft 365, and ensure top-tier customer service both remotely and on-site.

Qualifications

• Strong networking knowledge with VLANs, routing, firewalls, DHCP, and packet-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with VMware, Azure, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Excellent communication and customer service for remote and on-site client work.
• Ability to work across multiple client environments with documentation and process adherence.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Acumen Technology to clients, delivering excellent service both remotely and on-site.
• Own the network environment for assigned clients and support broader systems administration.
• Maintain detailed documentation, timekeeping, and metrics.
• Assist with VMware, Azure, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 administration as needed.

A successful Network Administrator would:

• Be the face of Acumen Technology to their clients, performing their jobs with excellent customer service and communication both remote and as they travel to client locations throughout Middle Tennessee.
• Own the network environment for their assigned clients, while also supporting broader systems administration work, including servers, Microsoft 365, and general infrastructure, as part of the client relationship.

• Be serious about mastering networking technology. VLANs, routing, firewalls, DHCP, and packet-level troubleshooting will be part of your day-to-day life, alongside VMware, Azure, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Maintain business efficiencies through detailed documentation, time keeping, communication, and an eye on the metrics.

• Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA, Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), CompTIA Network+. Additional value for Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE, Citrix CCEA/CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, VMware VCP.
• Solid grasp of switching and routing fundamentals, VLAN administration, and DHCP configuration.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs (site-to-site and client), and security policies across platforms such as Fortinet and SonicWall.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting wireless networks, including controller-based systems (Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba, or similar).
• Practical network troubleshooting experience, including packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar).
• Comfort working across multiple client environments with varying network standards, documentation, and equipment.
• Familiarity with hybrid and cloud networking concepts (Azure/AWS VPN gateways, VNet/VPC configuration).
• Understanding of operating systems, business applications, and general network systems.
• Interpersonal skills: telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer care.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
