NetSuite SME / Product Owner

Austin, Texas | Hybrid | Industrial Manufacturing

This is not a “keep the lights on” NetSuite role.

Our client is an established industrial manufacturer in Austin looking for a NetSuite Administrator / SME to take ownership of the platform across the organization. This person will sit at the intersection of technology, operations, finance, and manufacturing. They will be translating business needs into practical NetSuite solutions and helping teams get more out of the system.

You’ll have a voice in how NetSuite evolves, how processes are improved, and how the business uses its ERP as it grows.

What You’ll Own

• Serve as the primary NetSuite subject matter expert, trusted by both technical and business teams.
• Own day-to-day NetSuite administration, configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, and user support.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and leadership to understand what the business needs from NetSuite.
• Translate business requirements into scalable NetSuite solutions rather than simply accepting “the way we’ve always done it.”
• Manage roles, permissions, workflows, dashboards, saved searches, reports, forms, fields, and system configurations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate manual work, improve data quality, and increase adoption.
• Support and improve NetSuite functionality related to manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, order management, planning, and financial operations.
• Lead system enhancements from requirements through testing, implementation, and user adoption.
• Become the person employees call when something in NetSuite doesn’t make sense, and have the technical depth to figure out why.
• Work with external partners and vendors when specialized NetSuite expertise or development support is needed.
• Help establish better documentation, governance, training, and best practices around the platform.

The Manufacturing Piece Matters

This role is not simply looking for someone who has administered NetSuite in a generic corporate environment.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment is important.

You should understand how ERP systems support the realities of manufacturing, including inventory, purchasing, production, work orders, supply chain processes, costing, fulfillment, and the operational data that connects all of those functions.

You don't need to be a manufacturing engineer. But you should be comfortable sitting down with an operations leader, understanding the problem they're trying to solve, and determining how NetSuite can support it.

What They’re Looking For

Required:

• Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle NetSuite.
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a NetSuite SME, not simply a system user.
• Previous experience supporting NetSuite within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of NetSuite configuration, workflows, roles/permissions, reporting, dashboards, and saved searches.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to gather requirements and improve processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working directly with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to take ownership of problems and drive them through to resolution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users without making them feel like they're sitting through a software manual.

Nice to Have:

• SuiteScript / SuiteScripting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite manufacturing functionality.
• Experience with integrations and third-party applications.
• Experience managing NetSuite implementations, upgrades, or major enhancements.
• Familiarity with NetSuite WMS, Advanced Manufacturing, Planning & Budgeting, or other manufacturing-related modules.
• Experience working with external NetSuite consultants or development partners.
