Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer in Hawaii to manage and optimize cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet) and on-prem infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs for secure remote access.

You will monitor performance, enforce security controls, and drive reliability with capacity planning, documentation, and cross-team collaboration. Secret clearance and 3–5 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• IAT II certification
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in network engineering
• Proficiency in cloud networking solutions such as AWS VPC and Azure VNet
• Experience with on-premises networking hardware such as Cisco and Palo Alto
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Nagios
• Strong understanding of network security principles and practices
• Experience with Elasticsearch Enterprise and Kibana dashboards
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred: CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or CompTIA Network+
• Preferred: Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and network automation tools
• Preferred: Knowledge of F5 and NGINX technologies
• Preferred: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and PowerShell
• Preferred: Experience with ITIL processes and practices
• Preferred: Experience using the Atlassian suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Service Management

Responsibilities

• Maintain current network documentation, including diagrams, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate and enhance network resources for applications and services
• Oversee network-related projects from planning through implementation and documentation
• Research emerging network technologies, trends, and best practices
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Provide on-call after-hours rotational support as necessary
