Job description

At Ometa, we develop solutions that help organizations gain control over complex information flows. For more than twenty years, we have been connecting mission-critical systems and ensuring that data is available at the right time and in the right place. Our technology forms the silent engine behind processes that must run smoothly day in and day out—regardless of scale or complexity. To realize our ambitions, we are looking for a .NET Architect who is not only technically strong but also provides direction. Someone who maintains oversight, thinks ahead, and collaborates with the team to build a future-proof platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact at a strategic level and play a key part in the ongoing evolution of our Ometa Framework.

Company Description

Founded in 2001, Ometa was established with a clear vision: to efficiently manage and structure information to optimize the operations of businesses and organizations. Through intelligent integrations, including Microsoft SharePoint, we facilitate improved information exchange for non-ERP users. Ometa bridges back-office business applications (such as SAP) with front-office document management (such as SharePoint).

Our clients are large companies both domestically and internationally. Our team consists of dedicated professionals, each with specific responsibilities, yet ready to support each other as needed. Our commitment to pushing boundaries and driving progress has made us a trusted partner for businesses worldwide.

Role Description

The Ometa Framework is not a standard application; it is a high-speed integration engine. We connect complex ERP systems, portals, and external APIs through a fully event-driven design. Your mission? Rebuild the framework into a system that can effortlessly handle millions of requests with minimal latency. Whether it’s pushing data to a portal in real time or triggering critical service orders in an ERP, you will ensure the architecture is robust, secure, and extremely scalable.

Your Responsibilities
  • Architectural Vision
Design and oversee the blueprint for a multi-tenant system capable of processing millions of events per second.
  • Event-Driven Mastery
Optimize our Kafka implementation for maximum throughput, reliability, and guaranteed delivery.
  • Performance Engineering
Analyze performance traces in detail and systematically eliminate bottlenecks across the pipeline.
  • Security by Design
Embed secure coding principles at the core of the framework to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Cloud-Native Orchestration
Configure and optimize Docker and Kubernetes environments that scale elastically with traffic peaks.
Your Technical Profile
  • Deep .NET Knowledge: Expert in .NET (Core), with in-depth understanding of asynchronous patterns, threading, and memory management.
  • Message Broker Expert: Kafka holds no secrets for you — topics, partitions, consumer groups, idempotency, and delivery semantics are part of your daily toolkit.
  • Kubernetes Architect: Extensive experience with auto-scaling, service meshes, and container security in Kubernetes environments.
  • Security Expert: Strong knowledge of OWASP principles, encryption, and secure data exchange protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect).
  • Theoretical Heavyweight: Concepts like Event Sourcing, CQRS, and backpressure are not only familiar to you, but you can implement them pragmatically and at scale.
Requirements
  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in a senior software engineering, lead developer, or architect role within complex .NET environments.
  • Demonstrable experience designing scalable, high-performance architectures, preferably in event-driven or integration-focused landscapes.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively in both Dutch and English, with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have a proactive, analytical, and results-driven mindset and are confident making and advocating architectural decisions.
  • You can work independently, but also take responsibility within a multidisciplinary team and remain focused under tight deadlines.
  • You are willing to work on-site and hold a valid driver’s license.
What We Offer
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including a green company car, charging card, meal and eco vouchers, health insurance, and pension plans.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development.
  • A Supportive and collaborative work environment with ongoing training.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home.
  • Social, skilled, and often humorous colleagues.
  • All our software is made in Belgium. Believe in our software; it sells itself.
  • Free coffee and a modern office with state-of-the-art equipment.
