Job summary

Brookfield Renewable North America is seeking a NERC Compliance Specialist – Operations & Planning (O&P) in Queensbury, NY. The role focuses on aligning operations with federal and regional reliability standards, under the guidance of the Senior Compliance Manager.

You will develop, implement, and improve compliance processes, controls, and monitoring activities to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of NERC compliance standards and reliability frameworks.
• Experience with NERC Standards, utility operations, or related compliance functions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance management tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer and execute NERC O&P compliance programs.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Coordinate monitoring, self-certifications, evidence collection, and audits.
• Review regulatory requirements and assess operational impact.
• Support assessments, investigations, gap analyses, and corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance documentation and records.
• Prepare for audits and maintain evidence for reporting.
• Maintain NERC entity procedure library and document management.
• Manage self-certifications data inputs and regional portals.
• Develop and update procedures for NERC Standards.
• Provide training to operations staff.
• Recommend program changes to ensure compliance.
• Maintain annual Reliability Compliance schedule and deadlines.
• Promote compliance awareness; participate in workshops and committees.
