Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company seeks an Assoc NERC Compliance Analyst to monitor and verify adherence to NERC reliability standards and MEC policies. You will participate on MEC committees, manage documentation, and drive corrective actions to improve compliance across the organization.

The role requires detailed knowledge of NERC standards, data-driven analysis, and the ability to translate complex rules into concrete evidence. Collaboration with IT, operations, and governance teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, business administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Six years of related progressive work experience if no degree; eight years for senior level.
• Experience with hardware/software technology from IT or business operations roles; ability to interpret, implement, audit and follow regulations.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Advanced software skills to direct development and use of spreadsheets, documents, databases, and ad hoc reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to NERC compliance department personnel and subject matter experts across the organization on standards and problem resolution.
• Lead development and review of processes, procedures, and evidence to demonstrate NERC compliance; translate standards into evidence requirements.
• Develop and support training for personnel on NERC standards; participate in NERC task forces and teams.
• Conduct assessments for NERC compliance; gather, verify, and prepare information for reports, audits, and self-certifications.
• Respond to internal requests for interpretation of NERC standards; promote correct application across the company.
• Support technology solutions for managing NERC accesses and asset data (e.g., access control matrices, SharePoint, CIPCON).
• Review postings of NERC standards and participate in workshops and working groups; propose company responses to changes.
• Lead cross-functional analyses to resolve compliance questions and develop corrective action plans.
