Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN seeks a Transplant Nephrologist to join the Kidney Transplant Center. You will be part of an established team providing inpatient and outpatient care, with call every 4th week and access to dedicated support staff including RN coordinators, social workers, and Pharmacy.

Eligible for state licensure and DEA registration; board certification/eligibility required.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from Tennessee prior to hire date.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine with nephrology subspecialty.
• Completion of AST Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Training Accreditation Program (TNFTAP) or ACGME transplant nephrology fellowship.
• Minimum 5 years of transplant nephrology experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute inpatient and outpatient populations using evidence-based medicine.
• Serve as admitting, attending, or consulting physician with seamless care transitions.
• Collaborate with RN coordinators, social workers, PharmD, and nutritionists for patient care.
• Provide leadership and participate in program development within a nonprofit health system.

How you'll make an impact in this role

Ascension Saint Thomas Kidney Transplant Center is seeking to hire a Transplant Nephrologist to our team at Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital.

• Join an established team of 4 physicians and 2 APPs
• Call structure: Every 4th week
• Practice setting: Hospital inpatient/outpatient
• Access to Support staff; RN Coordinators, Social Workers, PharmD, Nutritionists
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certified in Nephrology and completion of an American Society of Transplantation (AST) Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Training Accreditation Program (TNFTAP) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited transplant nephrology fellowship.
• Required years of experience in transplant nephrology; 5 years minimum
• Previous medical directorship or leadership experience preferred
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute inpatient and outpatient populations utilizing advanced diagnostic acumen and evidence-based medicine.
• Serve as the admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring seamless transitions from admission to discharge.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
