A leading healthcare practice in Lebanon, PA, seeks a Nephrology Physician. This role offers a balanced work schedule, competitive compensation, and partnership opportunities. The physician will manage both outpatient and inpatient care, with a focus on expanding nephrology services.
Practice Overview: An independent, multi-specialty practice located in Lebanon, PA, with over 100 employees, including 10 MDs, 4 APPs, 3 NPs, Physical Therapists, and administrative staff. Specialties include Internal Medicine Primary Care, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, Nephrology, and Endocrinology.
About the Practice:
Schedule: Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with physicians having a 4.5-day workweek. Flexible start times. One week per month at the DaVita site, with no outpatient responsibilities but hospital rounding/consults.
Volume: Clinic: Half-day, around 10-12 patients. Hospital volume varies, averaging 7-10 patients per day, primarily consults (98%, not admissions).
Referrals: In-house internists and referrals from Good Samaritan, leading to permanent patient switches to LIMA.
Call Schedule: 1:2 weeknights and 1:3 weekend call, shared with Dr. Siddiqui and the Nurse Practitioner. Minimal call volume.
Payor Mix: 60% Government Subsidy (Medicare), 40% Private Insurance.
Candidate Parameters: MD/DO, AMG/FMG, BC/BE Nephrology. No visa sponsorship available.
Compensation: Base salary up to $235K before partnership. First-year: the higher of base pay or 65% of collections as if a partner. Second-year: higher of base pay or 85%. Productive bonus upon partnership: base drops to $185,000 with an annual bonus of $40,000-$60,000.
DaVita Compensation: $16,000/month, contributing to collections total each month, not shared with other providers.
Overhead: Determined by productivity, averaging 48%-50%.
Collections: 60-65% of billables within 90 days, with an average collection rate at 20 days. Practice target is $63,000/day.
Benefits: 2-year track with partnership at Year 3. Opportunity for building buy-in at Year 5, around $60,000-$75,000 (depending on Accounts Receivable). Relocation offered. Sign-on bonus of $30K from Wellspan Hospital, requiring a 5-year commitment or payback. Relocation allowance: $3,000. Benefits include 401K with 8-12% match, 12 days PTO, 8.5 paid holidays (increasing to 18 at partnership), 2 weeks paid leave plus $3,000, disability insurance, auto/gas card, health insurance for physician and family, cell phone, pension, and assistance with home down payments.
