Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide specialty care within our clinics, delivering patient-centered medical services with delegated prescriptive authority and collaboration with supervising physicians.

The NP will assess patients, order and interpret tests, develop outcomes-based treatment plans, and counsel patients and families on medications, nutrition and health promotion. Licensure in Texas and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current Texas RN/NP licensure, APRN certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition with comprehensive histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets labs and tests to assess health needs.
• Prescribes therapy per approved protocols with focus on safety and efficacy.
• Implements outcomes-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Counsels patients and families on medications, regimens, nutrition and health.
• Maintains records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiates referrals.
• Provides consultation for conditions related to the specialty.
• Manages patients in inpatient, ED or other non-primary settings.
• Performs invasive procedures as delegated by supervising physician.
• May cover additional shifts as needed.
