University of Michigan Health - Sparrow seeks a Medical Assistant to support both clerical and clinical workflows, ensuring efficient patient flow and compassionate care. You will prep patients, perform basic clinical tasks, and assist with education while maintaining HIPAA privacy standards.

Strong interpersonal skills, AIDET communication, and EMR experience are valued, with a high school diploma or GED required and MA program completion.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum 6 months of recent Medical Assistant clinical experience if no formal MA education.
• Experience in a medical office and knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards.
• MA certification preferred and EMR experience desired.

Responsabilités

• Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs and chief complaint, and document information.
• Perform laboratory and diagnostic testing as required.
• Screen and triage telephone calls; schedule tests and referrals.
• Administer oral and injectable medications and relay prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Support patient and family teaching and contribute to a conducive educational environment.
• Maintain logs/checks and ensure equipment and spaces are stocked and safe.
