Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care across clinical procedures, scheduling, and clerical tasks. The role includes rooming patients, collecting medical data, and assisting in examinations and labs.

The position requires completion of an ABHES or CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent accreditation, with CPR/BLS certification to be obtained within 90 days. Mercyhealth offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES or CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assistant program OR regional/nationally accredited program with clinical rotation.
• NCCA-accredited programs like NHA also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient for procedures.
• Assists in examinations, treatments and clinic procedures.
• Assists with lab procedures, screening tests and quality improvement projects.
• Answers telephone, triages inquiries, and directs callers as needed.
• Schedules appointments and maintains the computerized scheduler.
