Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa, part of Trinity Health, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift. The role emphasizes direct patient care across specialties with a focus on education, coordination, and documentation in EMR. 40 hours weekly, 8:00a–5:00p, no weekends and no holidays.

Qualifications

Active RN license in the state of Iowa; licensure in other states may be required depending on location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, email, MS Office).

Responsibilities

Plans, assesses, intervenes, and provides direct patient care using nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Performs comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, educational).
Administers medications and treatments safely via multiple routes and documents accordingly.
Maintains documentation accuracy in EMR and coordinates with multidisciplinary team.
Educates patients and families on treatments, medications, and health maintenance; assesses understanding.
Participates in staff meetings, quality improvement, and performance improvement projects.
