Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Portland, Maine. The role supports inpatient neonatal care with 12-hour shifts, days and/or nights, from August 2026 through July 2027.

Start date ASAP and a competitive pay rate applies. Responsibilities include high risk deliveries, full neonatal procedures, intubation, lumbar puncture, venipuncture, arterial puncture, umbilical line placement, thoracentesis and neonatal

Qualifications

• Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP specific) and Basic Life Support.
• Willing to obtain/maintain licensure for the assignment.
• Locum tenens placement in Portland, ME with inpatient neonate care.

Responsibilities

• Manage high risk deliveries and full neonatal procedures.
• Perform intubation and lumbar puncture as required.
• Conduct venipuncture and arterial puncture for labs.
• Place umbilical lines and perform thoracentesis as needed.
• Provide neonatal resuscitation when indicated.

This facility is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant(NP) for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Schedule: August 2026 - July 2027, 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights).
