Job summary

Cook County Health and Hospitals System seeks a qualified Attending Physician X in Pediatrics/Neonatology to cover the NICU at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and network hospitals, including on-site day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage.

The role includes supervision of trainees and scholarly activity within a teaching hospital. The candidate should have MD/DO, Illinois license, and board eligibility/certification in Pediatrics and Neonatology with at least five years in a level III NICU.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensed as a Physician in Illinois or able to obtain before start
• Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics or able to obtain before start
• Board Certified/Eligible in Neonatology or able to obtain before start
• Five (5) years of experience in a level III NICU

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical neonatology care in a level III NICU at Stroger and network hospitals
• Attend deliveries for resuscitation of neonates at Stroger and network hospitals
• Provide Neonatology consultations for NICU patients and obstetric patients
• Support teaching and scholarly activities within a teaching hospital
• Supervise pediatric house staff and train staff and residents
