Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for a full-time academic neonatologist in Pediatrics to provide neonatal care at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, a regional referral center with a 64-bed Level IV NICU.

Successful candidates will teach medical students, residents, and fellows, participate in clinical research, and contribute to ongoing neonatal services expansion in the region.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Figuratively ensures licensure eligibility.
• ACGME-accredited pediatrics residency completed.
• ACGME-accredited neonatal-perinatal fellowship completed.
• Board certification in Pediatrics is required.
• Board-eligible in Neonatology considered.
• Eligible for IL medical licensure needed.
• Academic appointment possible based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient neonatal care in a Level IV NICU.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
• Collaborate with subspecialists, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, and care teams.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows; engage in teaching activities.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly work.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and meet quality and productivity standards.
• Contribute to curriculum development and faculty activities.

Education

MD/DO or equivalent medical degree

Residency in pediatrics

ACGME-accredited fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine

Board certification in Pediatrics

Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology

Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
