Job summary

University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria in Peoria, IL seeks candidates for the Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology) to provide comprehensive neonatal care at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois, a 64-bed Level IV NICU.

The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows, participate in clinical research, and contribute to the growth of neonatal services in the region within a collaborative academic framework.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Residency completed in pediatrics (ACGME-accredited).
• ACGME-accredited fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine suitable for ABP certification.
• Board certification in Pediatrics is required.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology.
• Eligible for unrestricted Illinois medical licensure.
• Eligible for appointment at affiliated clinical facilities.
• Eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Illinois College of Medicine commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for critically ill newborns and infants in a Level IV NICU.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
• Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, maternal-fetal medicine, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
• Contribute to faculty meetings, curriculum development, and academic responsibilities.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and meet quality and productivity expectations.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Education

MD/DO or equivalent medical degree

Residency in Pediatrics (ACGME-accredited)

ACGME-accredited fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine (ABP certification eligible)

Board certification in Pediatrics

Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology

Eligible for unrestricted Illinois medical licensure

Eligible for appointment to the medical staff at affiliated facilities
