Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient NICU unit in Evanston, IL. The role covers day shifts with per diem scheduling, requiring independent activity and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support fragile neonates.

The successful candidate will assess neurodevelopment, work on feeding readiness, and coach families in developmental care while contributing to discharge planning and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Licensed or eligible for IL licensure as an Occupational Therapist (NBCOT certified).
Education: B.S. in OT or an advanced degree in OT from an accredited program.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum of two years OT experience; NICU experience desirable.
Strong knowledge of neonatal motor/sensory development and feeding/swallowing.

Responsibilities

Assess neuromotor, sensory, and behavioral development of preterm and medically complex infants.
Provide interventions to promote self-regulation, positioning, and motor skill acquisition.
Support oral feeding readiness and progression in collaboration with speech and lactation services.
Educate and coach families in infant handling and developmental care strategies.
Coordinate discharge readiness planning and caregiver training.
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement and education initiatives.
