Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist II for the Inpatient Neonatal unit at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This part-time role offers approximately 20 hours weekly with afternoon shifts, focusing on neonatal neurodevelopment, feeding, and family coaching.

You will collaborate with NICU teams to implement OT care plans, educate families, and support discharge readiness while maintaining accurate documentation and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• License: Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in IL
• Education: B.S. in Occupational Therapy or higher (M.S. or O.T.D.) as approved by AOTA/AMA Council
• Certification: BLS/CPR by American Heart Association
• Experience: minimum 2 years independent OT experience; NICU Level II/III experience

Responsibilities

• Assess neuromotor, sensory, and behavioral development of premature and medically complex infants.
• Provide interventions to promote self-regulation, positioning, sensory acclimation, and motor skill acquisition.
• Support oral feeding readiness and progression with speech and lactation colleagues.
• Educate and coach families on infant handling, positioning, and developmental care strategies.
• Facilitate discharge planning including equipment needs and caregiver training.
• Provide outpatient follow-up in Developmental Follow Up clinic.
• Collaborate with NICU team to integrate OT recommendations into care plans.
• Maintain documentation per hospital and regulatory standards.
• Stay current on evidence-based neonatal OT practices and participate in CE activities.
