Job summary

Penn State Hershey Medical Center offers a Graduate Nurse Residency Program that provides a seamless transition for new RN graduates into the nursing world. Residents stay on one unit for the year and participate in all learning opportunities.

The Neonatal ICU unit cares for high-risk deliveries and premature infants with various ventilation modes, under Magnet-accredited leadership, with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate Nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or licensed as RN by state of employment or multistate RN license (NLC).
• Graduated within one year of cohort start date.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a designated patient group.
• Remain on one unit for the entire year of the program and participate in all learning opportunities.
• Provide care on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with high-risk deliveries and neonates.
