Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois seeks a Master’s‑prepared Nurse Practitioner to deliver telephone and in‑person care, order and interpret labs and imaging, and develop comprehensive plans of care with the interdisciplinary team.

You will provide education to patients, participate in quality improvement, and lead in evidence‑based practice while maintaining licensure and DEA eligibility.

The role requires flexibility with shifts and travel as needed and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record.
• Current licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Current Illinois Controlled Substance License within 6 months of hire
• Eligible for DEA registration; Possession of a current DEA Registration within six months of hire and may vary based on practice site
• Current BLS Certification
• PALS/ACLS certification may vary based on practice site

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone care to various patients and document outcomes.
• Perform ordering, conducting, supervising, and interpreting diagnostic laboratory and imaging studies.
• Prescribe treatments and therapies including medications, diets, supplies, prosthetic devices, and equipment.
• Formulate a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with the patient and interdisciplinary team.
• Advise leadership on change, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice in decision making.
• Participate in peer review and credentialing processes.
• Engage in formal and independent learning to develop clinical and professional skills.
• Establish effective relationships with the interdisciplinary team and collaborating physicians.
• Advance the profession through presentations and publications.
