Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a full-time role in Illinois, including NICU coverage at times. Shifts may include 10-, 17-, and 24-hour blocks, with nights, weekends, and holidays required.

This Advanced Practice Nurse position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent, current IL licensure, and DEA registration eligibility. Strong clinical and teamwork skills are essential to manage acute and chronic conditions and support the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record.
• Current licensure in the State of Illinois
• Current Illinois Controlled Substance License within 6 months of hire
• Eligible for DEA registration; Possession of a current DEA Registration within six months of hire
• Current BLS Certification
• Current PALS/ACLS certification may vary based on practice site

Responsibilities

• Fulfills billing and productivity metrics requirements and maintains documentation.
• Provides telephone care to various patients.
• Performs ordering, conducting, supervising, and interpreting diagnostic studies.
• Prescribes treatments and therapies.
• Forms comprehensive plan of care with the patient and team.
• Leads quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
