Job summary

USA Health is seeking a neonatal advanced practice provider to lead daily rounds for newborns in the Mobile NICU. You will diagnose and treat common neonatal conditions, order tests, and coordinate transfers and discharges with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires NP or PA training with AL licensure or eligibility, BCLS and NRP, and a commitment to family-centered care and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training required
• Alabama NP/PA licensure required or within 60 days of start
• BCLS required; NRP required

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on all newborns in the nursery
• Diagnose and treat common neonatal conditions
• Order and interpret bilirubin, glucose tests and X-rays
• Prescribe medications within scope of practice
• Coordinate NICU transfers and discharge planning
• Document patient care and education for families
• Collaborate with neonatologists, obstetricians, RNs and therapists
• Engage in training and mentoring of staff and students
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
