Job summary

Parkland Health's NICU is seeking an RN to coordinate care for neonatal patients on the Main Hospital Bldg - 4th Floor. The role uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care, focusing on patient-centered outcomes and preventing delays.

The successful candidate will hold current Texas RN license, BLS, NRP, and two years NICU experience in a level III unit, with strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN license in Texas or a valid compact license.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• NRP certification required on hire or reclassification.
• Two years NICU experience in a level III or higher.
• Additional specialty certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patient rights and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform continuous NICU patient assessments and document findings.
• Coordinate care with the NICU team and manage handoffs.
• Provide safe nursing care for critically ill neonates.
• Serve as Charge Nurse on rotation and preceptor to staff.
• Ensure adherence to Parkland policies and standards.
