Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse for the Antepartum/Neonatal unit. You will coordinate patient care using the nursing process, assess patients, develop and implement plans, and evaluate outcomes to prevent complications and delays.

This full-time day-shift role requires an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in Texas, CPR, and NRP certification. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, with duties including precepting staff

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.
• Must have current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification on hire or placement in the role.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Maintains positive relationships with Parkland staff and external customers.
• Provides patient care education and training to patients and families.
• Participates in community outreach activities as assigned.
• Performs appropriate patient assessments and notifies providers of changes in condition.
• Provides safe medication administration and infection control practices.
• Delivers handoffs when care is relinquished and serves as Charge Nurse on rotation.
