Job summary

The Milk Lab Technician at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is responsible for the safe preparation of infant feedings and maintaining an aseptic Milk Lab environment. Duties include handling breast milk, formula, and inventories in accordance with HMBANA guidelines and department policies.

The role requires a High School Diploma, with 1 year of healthcare or food service experience; preferred certification in Human Milk Technology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year healthcare or food service related experience required.
• Preferred: Human Milk Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Milk Lab to ensure safe breast milk and fortified formula feeds are prepared in a clean, compliant environment.
• Follow HMBANA guidelines and department policies; assist in staff training as needed.
• Keep breast milk refrigerators and freezers organized and labeled; assist with inventory and supplies.
• Provide courteous patient, guest, and staff interactions, and support lactation and NICU teams.
