Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People is seeking a Milk Lab Technician to prepare, label, store, and deliver human milk feedings and formulas in the NICU and other units. You will calculate and verify formulas, adhere to food safety standards, and support inventory and documentation systems.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of healthcare hospital tech experience, with strong math, computer, and interpersonal skills for teamwork and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months of healthcare hospital tech experience or equivalent.
• Certification options include Pharmacy Tech regs or CPT/NHA as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feedings according to written formulations and aseptic technique.
• Measure powders and liquids accurately for recipes.
• Verify orders with a registered dietitian and obtain recipes as needed.
• Use clinical information systems to obtain orders and print labels.
• Maintain Milk Lab equipment and cleanliness of work surfaces.
• Store and deliver prepared feedings to units in a timely manner.
• Document log sheets and support audits and data tracking.
