The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Children’s Dieticians and Milk Depot seeks a Milk Lab Technician Lead to supervise the safe preparation and delivery of neonatal feedings, including human milk and fortified formulas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.

You will lead workflow, support team members, manage inventory and documentation, and drive continuous quality improvement to maintain high standards of patient care at the Main Campus Jackson.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years milk lab experience.
• Ability to perform precise calculations for fortification.
• Strong data entry and computer skills.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of neonatal feedings with accuracy and aseptic technique.
• Train Milk Lab Technicians on procedures and safety.
• Verify orders with a dietitian and follow standardized recipes.
• Manage feeding orders and labels in clinical systems.
• Ensure proper storage and timely delivery to units.
• Maintain sanitation and documentation for compliance.
• Support quality improvement and workflow coordination.
• Duties may change as needed by management.
