Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking a Registered Nurse Shift Supervisor in the Neonatal ICU to lead patient care and coordinate unit functions during shifts. The role emphasizes nursing leadership, staff development, and adherence to clinical policies to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Candidates should have a RN license, a bachelor’s degree, and at least 2 years of NICU experience, with BCLS obtained within 30 days of starting.

Qualifications

• RN license or compact state license as required
• 2+ years NICU experience required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelor's Degree required

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit
• Collaborates with management to create teamwork that supports improved outcomes
• Supports patient-first philosophy and service recovery when necessary
• Operates nursing strategies including employee rounding and hourly rounds to improve engagement
• Assists with interviewing, selection, and training of new staff and with performance actions as needed
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment
