Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive patient care, including examinations, treatment planning, and respiratory interventions per physician orders. You will lead the Respiratory Care Team during shifts and respond promptly in high‑risk deliveries within the NICU team, while contributing to education and quality initiatives.

The role requires licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, BLS, 0–1 year of related experience, and ability to work

Qualifications

Associate's degree required in Respiratory Care/Cardiopulmonary Science.
License required: Respiratory Therapist License; Registration required: Reg Respiratory Therapist; BLS certificate.
0–1 year related work experience.
Shift rotation to off-hours and weekends; on-call availability.
Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient condition and modifies respiratory care plan; advises physicians.
Acts as team leader during shifts when management is not on site.
Attends internal/external educational meetings to maintain licensure.
Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance care quality.
Develops patient/family education plans and facilitates learning.
