Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on a PRN, variable schedule. The RN provides care across the patient stay, using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation and facilitates coordination with the health care team.

Strong data interpretation and communication skills are essential. Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred with a plan to obtain within 8 years.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within 8 years of hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the State of Michigan
• BSN within 8 years of hire or employment may be terminated
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation
• Critical care or ALS is required for some RNs, unit specific

Responsibilities

• Provides care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinates care with other professionals and delegates tasks.
• Documents patient responses, resource use and anticipated needs at each shift.
• Maintains competency in population served and unit-specific standards of practice.
• Assesses and monitors patient data to plan and modify care as needed.
