Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado invites applications for the Neonatal Advanced Practice Lead, a front-line clinical and operational leadership role supervising APPs at CHCO and partner sites. Responsibilities include staffing, workflow optimization, and ensuring high-quality neonatal care across shifts in a Level II NICU.

The role requires leadership in onboarding, training, and competency assessment, plus collaboration with physicians and executives to advance policies and standardize practice.

Qualifications

• BSN and Master’s in NNP; or BS in nursing plus MSN in PA studies.
• Two years of neonatal APP experience.
• Colorado RN license and APRN or Colorado PA license.
• Prescriptive authority and board certification as NNP or PA.
• BLS/CPR and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Leads team members in providing direct patient care with expert clinical knowledge.
• Partners with multidisciplinary team to meet patient/family needs and promote quality care.
• Oversees schedules and workflows, assigns team members to patients.
• Ensures appropriate staffing resources and adjusts coverage as needed.
• Resolves day-to-day operational and patient/family issues with inclusive problem-solving.
• Analyzes operational data and KPIs to optimize patient care and unit operations.
• Onboards and trains team members; mentors project-based clinical improvements.
• Supports performance and professional development aligned with department goals.
• Collaborates with leadership to hire, promote, and take corrective actions.
