Job summary

RAPID CARE INNOVATION TRANSPORT LLC in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a dependable NEMT Driver to transport patients to medical appointments and healthcare facilities. You will assist with boarding and wheelchair securement, maintain logs, and ensure safety before and after trips.

Ideal candidates are punctual, compassionate, and professional, with a clean driving record and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience with wheelchair securement and passenger assistance.
• Strong punctuality, reliability, and time management skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with elderly/disabled passengers.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Knowledge of Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments, dialysis centers, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.
• Assist passengers with boarding, deboarding, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and documentation in compliance with NEMT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and passengers.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and patient privacy (HIPAA) guidelines.
• Manage on-time pickups and drop-offs while adapting to schedule changes as needed.
