Job summary

NorthernBio is seeking a Necropsy Technician I to support necropsy workflows, tissue handling, data collection, and equipment upkeep in a laboratory setting.

The role involves basic procedures, sample management, euthanasia, anesthesia, and compliance with GLP and regulatory standards. A HS diploma is required; ALAT is preferred. Hybrid or flexible scheduling may apply depending on study needs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required; undergraduate degree preferred.
• 1 year experience with HS Diploma or 6 months with undergrad degree preferred.
• ALAT certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; learn additional applications.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Basic understanding of lab operations and data collection; knowledge of GLP and federal regs.
• Basic understanding of study design and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Basic perfusion and prosection of tissues and organs.
• Sample management.
• Necropsy study setup and data sheet labeling.
• Use of necropsy equipment (down draft tables, bone saw, balance).
• Basic euthanasia and sample collection.
• Waste management and lab maintenance.
• Data collection and stocking standard necropsy supplies.
• Preparation of solutions and fixatives.
• Assist with necropsy data review.
• Intubation/extubation and anesthesia depth assessment.
• Drug calculations and administration (IM/SC).
• Introduction to point technician duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
