Job Details: Job Location: Field - McPherson, KS 67460, SUMMARY: Perform all functions relating to the agency appointment, cancellation and book of business management processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must make decisions relative to desirability of business and diversification of agency business.
- Appointment and cancellation of agents.
- Assist agent with underwriting procedures and carry out public relations between departments of the company and agents. This duty may include meeting with prospective and current customers with the agent to recommend coverage, help establish limits of protection and price the product, as well as making the decision on the acceptability of the risk to the company. The individual's performance will be partially gauged on the profitability of the business individually underwritten by them as well as the results of the territory.
- Train agents on all Farmers Alliance rating products and technology.
- Assist agents in management and control of company/agency book business.
- Collect delinquent agency accounts and additional premiums on final audits returned.
- Assist in the arrangements and preparations for conventions.
- Assist in holding agency schools and agency sales meetings.
- Gather information for analysis of rate changes, commissions, etc. from agents and/or competitors.
- Facilitate State Team meetings and responsibilities.
- Assist with special assigned tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Self-motivated and customer focused.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills are required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates with previous insurance industry experience at a professional level, with a history of formal insurance education may be considered.
- Knowledge of property casualty insurance marketing, claims, underwriting, bonds and accounting concepts is preferred.
- Insurance courses as directed by the supervisor.
