Position: Program Support Specialist/Administrative Assistant

Location: Central or eastern Nebraska

Application Deadline: May 19, 2025

Anticipated Start Date: June 16, 2025

Overview: This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team working with innovative approaches and partnerships to benefit wildlife resources in Nebraska. It is a full-time role with benefits, based in a home office environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle a wide range of responsibilities based on demonstrated skills and results.

Primary Duties:
  • Administer databases to track public hunting access programs, including Open Fields and Waters and the Berggren Pheasant Plan.
  • Manage public hunting access program payments and coordinate with partners for efficient program delivery.
  • Oversee databases tracking chapter activities, youth programs, and fundraising results for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.
  • Coordinate with state program staff and landowners to order seed mixtures, develop quotes, and process invoices.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as tracking staff activities, managing expenses, and maintaining team digital storage accounts.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts and manage social media working groups.
  • Develop educational and promotional materials, update social media platforms, and contribute articles for newsletters.
  • Maintain contact lists and information related to regional representatives and chapters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and state agencies.
  • Represent the organization at outreach events and promote conservation activities.
  • Assist in planning meetings, trainings, and other outreach events.
  • Perform accounting functions including sales tax calculations, invoicing, and deposits.
  • Manage program communication channels and handle inquiries and supplies.
  • Support meeting and event planning, including agenda drafting and logistics coordination.
  • Track and record data for no-till drill programs and liaise with chapters and managers to ensure program efficiency.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and summaries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with social media and website management
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills and team orientation
  • Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends for outreach events
Additional Skills:
  • Ability to work from a home office with supplied equipment
  • Typing speed of 45+ WPM
  • Experience with Constant Contact, CRM, Canva is a plus
  • Accurate financial reporting and deposit preparation skills
Education and Experience:

Preferred candidates will be detail-oriented, innovative, creative, and resourceful self-starters capable of working with minimal supervision. A minimum of an Associate Degree in business, natural resources, or related fields, or accounting is preferred. Customer service and volunteer experience are a plus.

Salary:

Range: $40,000 - $45,000, commensurate with experience. Includes full benefits and performance-based raises.
