Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Shift Lead - NDT Operations to provide day-to-day leadership across C and D shifts, ensuring safe, efficient NDT inspections and adherence to quality standards. You will coordinate staffing, provide technical guidance, and maintain production continuity when the AFP/NDT Production Manager is off-shift.

This role requires strong communication and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will mentor technicians, oversee shift handoffs, and uphold safety,

Qualifications

• Experience leading NDT operations in a production/manufacturing setting.
• Ability to guide teams and make decisions with limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of NDT processes, specs, and quality systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience coordinating across shifts and maintaining continuity.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to mentor technicians and develop talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee NDT operations across C and D shifts.
• Coordinate staffing, workload, priorities, and assignments to meet production needs.
• Provide coaching and technical support to NDT personnel.
• Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet schedules.
• Ensure inspections follow approved procedures and customer requirements.
• Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Act as primary contact for shift issues and escalations.
• Ensure accurate inspection records and production documentation.
• Communicate status to Shift Lead and Production Manager during handoffs.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to resolve issues and maintain flow.
• Support training and development of technicians.
• Monitor equipment readiness and maintenance status.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
