Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Shift Leader to supervise NDT personnel, ensure part integrity and safety of aerospace components. Lead inspections (RT/PT/UT/ET), maintain certifications, and collaborate with engineers to improve processes.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work a 2nd shift in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, hiring, training, and sustaining 5S/FOD controls, with emphasis on teamwork and safe

Qualifications

• NAS 410 and ASTM/AWS specs for certifications and inspection requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge in multiple NDT methods (RT, PT, UT, ET, IR preferred).
• Knowledge of drawings, production work orders and inventory/issue tracking systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
• Ability to work in a team with rapidly changing priorities.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work extended hours, support A-shift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervising personnel including setting near and long term goals, performance reviews, coaching, planning and managing work schedule.
• Hold group standup meetings to understand and schedule NDT work priorities.
• Coordinate with NDT management to share resources to meet production priorities.
• Provide status updates on production deliverables at daily schedule meetings.
• Participate in hiring process for new inspectors and provide OJT.
• Promote teamwork and maintain employee morale.
• Maintain certifications and perform inspections as required.
• Review designs with engineers and support development tests.
• Ensure training records are current and accurate.
• Ensure products meet quality standards per drawings and maintain tools/calibration.
• Promote 5S and FOD controls and conduct audits.
• Develop and implement process improvements and safety programs.
• Guide teammates to ensure safe success and support customer flow through NDT workcenters.
