Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector, NDT, 1st Shift, to perform specialized inspections across composites, metallic and additively manufactured parts. You will support UT, CT, PT, and ET modalities and collaborate with NDT Engineers to ensure structural integrity and conformity.

The role requires NAS 410 familiarity, basic reading of complex drawings, and 0–2 years of NDT experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
0-2 years practical NDT inspection experience or NAS 410 classroom/military training in UT/CT/PT/ET.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and material specifications.
Familiarity with NAS 410, ASNT, ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

Perform non-destructive evaluations on composites, metals, and additively manufactured parts using UT, CT, PT, or ET.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment and CT/X-ray scanning systems per SOPs.
Interpret scan data, results, and surface indications against drawings and acceptance criteria.
Document inspection findings and log results in MES/QMS; generate MRB tags for nonconformities.
Assist with technique development, plan verification, and root-cause investigations.
Maintain compliance with FAA requirements, NAS 410, NADCAP guidelines, and QMS.
