Job summary

S&ME is seeking an NDT/NDE Technician in Raleigh, NC to perform non-destructive testing on structural steel, including UT and MT inspections. Field work may involve climbing towers and buildings over 200 feet with fall protection; expect 50+ hour weeks during peak periods. Requires 3+ years NDT/NDE metal testing or an associate degree, plus active AWS CWI and ASNT Level II certifications.

Valid U.S. driver's license; background check and drug screen on offer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree.
• Active AWS CWI certification or working towards it.
• ASNT Level II certification in at least one method.
• ICC certification in Building or Structural Steel Inspection is a plus.
• Level II for UT, PT, MT certifications is beneficial.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and non-destructive testing (UT/MT) on structural steel.
• Coordinate and juggle testing assignments across projects.
• Maintain, calibrate, and inventory field and lab testing equipment.
• Craft detailed reports communicating findings to stakeholders.
