Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in El Dorado, Kansas, is seeking an NDT Inspector - Associate to evaluate fabricated materials by dimensional checks, weld inspection, and nondestructive testing (ultrasonic, mag particle, liquid penetrant) under supervision.

The position reports to the Quality Supervisor, requires a High School diploma (or higher) with Level I NDT certification within 90 days and 2+ years in fabricated steel. Shift is 36 hours paid for 40. Starting wage is $27.93/hr.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 5+ years of work/educational experience or Associate's Degree with 2+ years' experience or Bachelor's Degree.
• 2 years’ experience in fabricated steel environment.
• Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations, including conversion of fractions to decimals.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Level I NDT certifications or be able to obtain Level I certification within 90 days.
• Ability to operate NDT testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Test and evaluate products to ensure conformance to specifications with integrity.
• Interpret reports for NDT and evaluate quality acceptance under supervision.
• Reject material or stop work to minimize loss and risk of dissatisfaction.
• Maintain workflow with the production supervisor and report issues.
• Generate and maintain NDT reports and records.
